Capturing the messy and beautiful moments of everyday wonder, grief, heartache, whimsy, and joy.

I grew up in the heart of Texas as the oldest child in a family of nine. At age 28 I moved to Costa Rica to attend a Spanish language school for six months, finally learning the native tongue of my Hispanic father as I prepared to do mission work in South America. I spent five years in Ecuador working with women in prostitution, women rescued from human trafficking, and boys living on the streets due to poverty, abuse, and neglect. I returned to Texas to be near my family once more and am now married with a young son and a daughter on the way.

I’m currently writing a book which focuses on my experience in Ecuador and the stories of people I encountered, the culture of missions (from caring to toxic), and the need for love to triumph over any other agenda, including religion.
